Technically gifted, blessed with vision and an engine that doesn't seem to run of out gas, Modric has delivered many memorable performances throughout his long career. This game was all that. The 2018 Ballon d'Or winner, put on a world class show to inspire his nation to victory and move Croatia into another stage of knockout rounds of a tournament. Everything was on display here - his passing range, the twists, turns and delightful touches and then the iconic outside of the foot strike, placing the ball beautifully into the top corner. Perfectly crafted and unbelievably executed, this was Luka Modric at his dazzling best.
